OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - SKYE TWINNED WITH BENIDORM

The Isle of Skye is pleased to announce that discussions have begun regarding a formal twinning arrangement with Benidorm, Spain. Although geographically different, both destinations share a strong tourism economy and welcome significant numbers of visitors each year. There are, however, some minor differences. Benidorm has approximately 300 days of sunshine a year. Skye had one last Tuesday. Benidorm visitors reserve sun loungers with towels. Skye visitors reserve passing places with motorhomes. Benidorm recommends factor 30. Skye recommends Gore-Tex, a woolly hat and keeping the receipt. As part of the proposed cultural exchange, Benidorm has offered to send representatives to Skye in February. We have not yet told them.
