Who we are
Isle of Skye Tourist Board is an independent parody and visitor-information website. It is not an official tourism authority. For privacy enquiries, please use our contact form.
Information we collect
- Details you provide through contact, newsletter and Ask Donnie forms, such as your name, email address, message, question or an optional submitted image.
- Order and delivery information needed to fulfil shop purchases.
- Payment status and transaction references. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on this website.
- Basic technical information needed for security, reliability and operation of the website.
How we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries and submitted questions, provide requested updates, process and fulfil purchases, record voluntary support payments, prevent misuse and meet legal or accounting obligations. Ask Donnie questions may be processed by an AI writing service to prepare a private draft for administrator review. Questions, answers and any accompanying image appear publicly only after review; email addresses are never published, and names are shown only where the sender has given permission. We only use information for a compatible purpose and retain it no longer than reasonably necessary.
Services we use
We use trusted service providers where necessary to operate the website, including Stripe for payment processing, OpenAI for administrator-requested Ask Donnie draft generation and our website hosting provider. These providers process information under their own security and privacy obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
The website may use essential cookies or similar storage required for security and core functions. We will not use optional advertising or analytics cookies without an appropriate notice and choice where consent is required.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Contact us to make a request. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you remain concerned.
