PUBLIC DECENCY NOTICE – 2027 CALENDAR Following several months of careful planning, poor judgement and one conversation in the bar which should probably have ended much earlier, we are delighted to confirm that the Isle of Skye Tourist Board is considering its first official calendar. THE MEN OF SKYE 2027 Crofters, Characters and Local Legends. The concept is relatively straightforward. Twelve local gentlemen. Twelve traditional Highland settings. Very little traditional Highland clothing. Current volunteers include Donnie the Crofter, Roddy the Postman, Finlay the Barman and Davie the Gamekeeper, together with several other local men who have yet to fully understand what they have agreed to. For reasons of public decency, strategically positioned agricultural equipment, postbags, whisky barrels, fishing creels, livestock and other suitably substantial Highland objects will be deployed where necessary. The photography will be tasteful. The discussions beforehand almost certainly will not be. We should also make clear that a portion of the proceeds from every calendar purchased will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, which means there will at least be one genuinely sensible reason for Donnie standing in a barn wearing nothing but wellies and a sack of cattle feed. We are currently gauging interest before committing the gentlemen, the photographer and the emergency supply of dressing gowns. The calendars will be available for delivery anywhere in the world, so geographical distance is unfortunately no protection. Would you actually buy one? Please answer carefully.
