📦 AMAZON ANNOUNCES NEW SKYE DISTRIBUTION CENTRE
We’re delighted to announce that Amazon is to open a major new distribution hub in Broadford. After an extensive search for a suitable facility, executives are understood to be extremely pleased with the premises. The new centre will dramatically improve delivery times across Skye, with some parcels expected to arrive within the same calendar month. Recruitment for drivers is now underway. Due to local conditions, Amazon has reportedly relaxed its usual vehicle requirements. Motorbikes with sidecars — acceptable. Old Land Rovers — preferred. Tractors — considered. Anything that starts in the rain — immediate interview. Applicants should have a good knowledge of single-track roads, passing places, sheep and tourists who stop without warning because they've seen a Highland cow. Amazon Prime customers are reminded that “Next Day Delivery” remains an aspiration rather than a legally binding commitment. The Broadford facility is expected to create several new jobs. Possibly more if somebody can get the shed door open. - Isle of Skye Tourist Board "Bringing Skye closer to the rest of the world. One parcel at a time."
